Election Protection and Election Modernization at the 2013 NM Legislative Session

After some of the problems experienced in the last elections, New Mexico Vote Matters is working with a coalition of non-profit organizations to ensure our voting system is free, fair, and accessible for all New Mexicans.

New Mexico Vote Matters is supporting the following bills to modernize our election systems and increase access for New Mexicans to the registration and voting processes. 

1.     Allowing 17 year olds to Vote in Primaries: HB 157 sponsored by Representative Jeff Steinborn.

2.     Early Voting Site Voter Registration: SB 272, sponsored by Senator Jerry Ortiz y Pino.

Our Vote is Our Voice!

ELECTION DAY IS TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 6.

You can cast your vote on Election Day or by Early Voting or by Absentee Voting. To find out where you can early vote or to request an Absentee Ballot, call your

EARLY VOTING

OCTOBER 20 – NOVEMBER 3.
Beginning October 20 through November 3, you can early vote for the November 6, General Election! You can also go to www.sos.state.nm.us to find an early voting site near you.

ABSENTEE BY MAIL & ABSENTEE-IN-PERSON VOTING

OCTOBER 9 – NOVEMBER 6.
Absentee voting begins October 9. Call your County Clerk to request your absentee ballot. You can find your County Clerk’s number on the Voter Resources page here. The Absentee Ballot Request Deadline is November 2 at 5:00 p.m. Absentee Ballot Due: November 6 by 7:00 p.m.

 Voter Convenience Centers

Primary Election – June 5, 2012

New Mexico’s primary elections are coming up on Tuesday, June 5, 2012.  If you are eligible to vote in the primaries, be sure to get out and vote!  Bernalillo County residents can check their registration status by visiting Bernalillo County’s My Voter Information website at www.bernco.gov/mvi.

 

Early Voting is Underway!

Early voting is underway in New Mexico.  Voters may now cast their ballot before election day at early voting centers.  Contact your county clerk’s office for a list of early voting centers in your community.  Bernalillo County residents may visit www.bernco.gov/myvotecenter or call 243-VOTE (8683) for more information on polling locations.
